There are two types of payments on BaliLocalStays:
- Guest Booking Payments: Hosts receive payments directly from guests via Xendit. You must connect your account to Xendit to accept online bookings.
- Host Membership Fees: Hosts pay their annual membership fee to BaliLocalStays using Stripe (credit/debit card). This is only for paying your yearly fee to list properties.
What does “connecting” a Xendit account do?
It allows guests to pay you online by credit card. Funds go directly to your Xendit account—never held by BaliLocalStays.
Do I have to use Xendit to get bookings?
Yes
Will BaliLocalStays hold guest payments until after check-in?
No. All guest payments go directly to your Xendit account. BaliLocalStays never handles your money.
What does it mean to be online bookable?
Guests can book your property and pay instantly online, just like on major booking sites. You’ll receive a booking request to accept or decline—there is no instant booking by default.
Can travelers send an inquiry if they’re not ready to book?
Absolutely. Guests can send you a message, inquiry, or contact you directly.
What are Xendit and Stripe?
Both are third-party payment processors. Xendit is for receiving guest payments in Indonesia. Stripe is used only for paying your annual membership fee to BaliLocalStays.
How much does Xendit cost?
Xendit charges a small processing fee per transaction (similar to other payment gateways). You receive your guest payment right away. Check Xendit’s website for the latest rates.
How do I connect my Xendit account?
Log in to your BaliLocalStays dashboard, go to “My Payment Methods,” and follow the steps to connect your Xendit account. It only takes a few minutes!
How do I pay my annual membership fee?
You’ll be prompted to pay with a credit or debit card via Stripe when your free year ends or when you add extra listings.
